In 2013, Ministry of State Secretariat, as Fostering Institution of Functional Position of Translator during the course of 2006 - 2015, facilitated the implementation of National Conference (Munas) of the Functional Officials of Translator. on 10 October 2013 in Jakarta, the Functional Officials of Translator agreed to establish a professional organization for the Functional Position of Translator, known as the Association of Indonesian Government Translators and Interpreters (IPPI). In addition, the IPPIs Articles of Association, Bylaws, Logo, and Executive Board are also agreed. The Executive Board members are Muhardi (from Ministry of State Secretariat) as Chairman of the IPPI and Yohanes (from Supreme Court) as Secretary General of the IPPI. The establishment of this professional organization aims to be partner for the Fostering Institution of the Functional Position of Translator to develop careers and improve competence of the Functional Officials of Translator.

On 27 November 2014, Ministry of State Secretariat facilitated the 2nd National Conference of the Functional Position of Translator. The Conference agreed on the IPPI Code of Ethics. With the establishment of the IPPI Code of Ethics, the IPPI members are expected to be able to carry out translation activities in daily interactions and in their respective institutions, guided by the Code as guidelines for attitudes, behavior, and actions.

On 22 November 2018, Cabinet Secretariat held a Technical Guidance on Career Development for the Functional Officials of Translator. On the occasion, the participants made use of a discussion session on the professional organization of functional position to elect new Executive Board of the IPPI. The Functional Officials of Translator successfully elected the new Executive Board for the period of 2018-2020. They are Yanos Okterano (from Ministry of Law and Human Rights) as Chairman of the IPPI and Novri Helmawan (from Secretariat General of the House of Representatives) as Secretary General of the IPPI.
