Let us extend our praise and gratitude to the Almighty God for it is because of His grace and blessing, Indonesian Government Translators and Interpreters (Pejabat Fungsional Penerjemah/PFP) continue to play their roles and make significant contributions to ministries, government institutions, regional Governments, as well as for our national interests.

Based on Regulation of Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reforms Number 1 of 2016 on the Amendment to Regulation of Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reforms Number 49 of 2014 on Government Functional Position of Translators and Interpreters, Cabinet Secretariat as Fostering Institution for Government Functional Position of Translators and Interpreters is committed to improving the quality of fostering Government Functional Position of Translators and Interpreters is committed to improving the quality of fostering Government Functional Position of Translators and Interpreters.

We manifest that commitment by, among others, strengthening the function of fostering Indonesian Government Translators and Interpreters through the establishment of an Echelon II-level work unit, namely the Center for Government Translators and Interpreters Development (Pusbinter) on 25 September 2020. According to Regulation of Cabinet Secretary Number 1 of 2020 on Organization and Work Procedure of Cabinet Secretariat, the work unit is responsible for managing, fostering, developing, and providing administrative support for Government Functional Position of Translators and Interpreters.

On that note, we also continue to improve the competence of the translators and interpreters through a host of educations and trainings, including functional trainings and technical trainings both at home and abroad, technical guidance for the translators and interpreters career development, as well as by assigning translators and interpreters at various international conferences in order to enrich their translating and interpreting experiences.

In the meantime, in a bid to facilitate dissemination of information related to the development of Indonesian Government Translators and Interpreters and to improve the quality of our measures in fostering and facilitating career development of Indonesian Government Translators and Interpreters, we are pleased to announce that we have developed and launched a web information system and an application for Government Functional Position of Translators and Interpreters (e-JFP).

With those measures in place, it is our fervent hope that Indonesian Government Translators and Interpreters can further strengthen and reinforce their role as agents of change and a communication bridge between Indonesia and the international communities.

To conclude, we earnestly hope that our endeavors to foster and facilitate career development of Indonesian Government Translators and Interpreters can support the Government in bringing progress and advancement for the nation.
